Samuel Smith, Winter Welcome, Ale 6% 55cl

Samuel Smith skriver om denne øl: "The collectable label on Winter Welcome Ale this year celebrates the centenary of the Flying Scotsman. The locomotive was built in Doncaster, South Yorkshire and went into service on 24th February 1923. The loco was designed by Sir Nigel Gresley and was one of the most powerful locos of its time. In 1934 it recorded 100mph – the first steam loco in the UK to achieve that speed. The loco is now owned by the National Railway Museum in York where it can sometimes be seen, however it is still operational on special chartered journeys enabling some lucky voyagers to travel by steam on this most famous loco. Raise a glass of Winter Welcome Ale to celebrate its centenary!

This seasonal beer is a limited edition brewed for the short days and long nights of winter. The full body resulting from fermentation in ‘stone Yorkshire squares’ and the luxurious malt character, which will appeal to a broad range of drinkers, is balanced against whole-dried Fuggle and Golding hops with nuances and complexities that should be contemplated before an open fire."
