Powerful mouthwatering acidity runs right through the palate. Underneath there is plenty of fruit, sitting strongly in the succulent citrus spectrum. Good length. Drink from 2025-2030. 94 point - CamDouglasms.com: "A delicious wine from the VM stable with a bouquet of fresh sweet grapefruit and white peach, the classic Keltern Vineyard scent of mineral with a layer of reduction is mild in this vintage, this in favour of fruit concentration and beautiful oak flavours and textures. Dry on the palate with a mix of white fleshed stone fruits, nut and baking spice, citrus and hard stone mineral soil qualities and a texture that highlights finesse some hidden power. A lovely example, pure, fresh, ripe and delicious. Best drinking from 2024 through 2029."

96 point, Vinous: "The Keltern Chardonnay is always effortless, never seeming to have to try too hard to satisfy, and 2019 is no exception. It has delectable depth of concentration, no doubt due to the yields, which are kept to one bunch per shoot. Full-bodied and expansive, but the firm acidity pierces the core of fruit, providing line and purpose from the entry to the lengthy, textural finish. In a savory, seamless style. The judicious use of French oak (40% new) provides a round frame in which the wine sits but doesn't give the sense of an oaky wine."
